Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and FaceyIT FZ-LLC, a free-zone limited liability company registered in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (“FaceyIT”, “we”, “us”), governing your use of the GlucoConvert iPhone application and this website (together, the “App”). By downloading, installing or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.

The App is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your licence to use the App. Where these Terms conflict with that agreement on the subject of the licence itself, Apple’s terms prevail; on all other subjects, these Terms apply.

Not a medical device

GlucoConvert is an informational and record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, has not been evaluated or approved by any medicines or medical-device regulator, and is not certified under the EU Medical Device Regulation, the UK MDR, the US FDA framework, or any equivalent regime. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, does not provide medical advice, and must never be used as the basis for a dosing or treatment decision. Always confirm values with your meter and consult a qualified healthcare professional.

  1. 1. The service

    GlucoConvert converts blood glucose values between mg/dL and mmol/L using the standard factor 18.0182, indicates whether a value falls inside commonly used clinical reference ranges, and lets you store measurements with optional notes and insulin amounts, view them in a calendar, receive local reminders, and export them as CSV or text.

    The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Range colours are general population references (ADA/EASD Time-in-Range), not personal targets; your own targets are set by your doctor and may differ substantially, for example during pregnancy, in childhood, or with certain treatment regimens.

  2. 2. No medical advice, no reliance

    Conversion results, range labels and stored entries are informational only. You are solely responsible for how you interpret and use them. Do not delay seeking medical care, change insulin or medication, or act on a hypoglycaemia or hyperglycaemia reading based on the App alone.

    If you feel unwell or a reading appears dangerous, follow your treatment plan and contact emergency services or your healthcare provider immediately.

    Rounding is applied for display: mmol/L values are shown to one decimal place and mg/dL values as whole numbers. Displayed figures may therefore differ slightly from the exact arithmetic result and from your meter.

  3. 3. Eligibility

    You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, to accept these Terms on your own behalf. A younger person may use the App only under the supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms and who remains responsible for all treatment decisions.

    You must also be legally able to enter into a binding contract and not be barred from receiving the App under the laws of your country of residence.

  4. 4. Your data and your device

    Measurements you enter are stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system, we do not run a server for the App, and we do not receive your measurements. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is copied to your own private iCloud container and handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy; we have no access to it.

    You are responsible for your own backups. Deleting the App, resetting the device, signing out of iCloud, or clearing app data may permanently remove your entries. Use the CSV or text export to keep a copy. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.

  5. 5. Free trial, subscription and renewal

    New users receive 7 days of full access at no cost. The trial begins at first launch, requires no payment method, and does not renew. When it ends, a subscription is required to continue using the App.

    Subscription terms:

    • Title: GlucoConvert Premium (annual).
    • Length: 1 year.
    • Price: €15.00 per year, or the equivalent set by Apple for your App Store storefront, including applicable taxes. The exact amount in your currency is shown before you confirm the purchase.
    • Content: continued access to the whole App — conversion in both directions, unlimited diary entries, calendar history, reminders, CSV/text export and optional iCloud sync.

    Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically for further one-year periods at the then-current price unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

    You can manage and cancel the subscription at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device, or in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not shorten or refund the period already paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.

    If we increase the price, Apple will notify you and, where required, seek your consent before the increase takes effect; if you do not consent, the subscription will not renew.

  6. 6. Refunds and statutory withdrawal rights

    All payments, taxes, receipts, refunds and price display in your local currency are handled by Apple. We are not the merchant of record and cannot issue refunds. Refunds are governed by Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions and are requested from Apple.

    If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction granting a statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts, that right applies to your purchase and is exercised through Apple as the seller of record. Nothing in these Terms removes it.

    For technical problems, contact us first at support@glucoconvert.app — most issues are faster to fix than to refund.

  7. 7. Reminders and notifications

    Reminders are local notifications scheduled by iOS. Delivery depends on your device: notification permissions, Focus modes, Low Power Mode, insufficient storage, or a powered-off device can delay or suppress them. Reminders are a convenience, not a safety-critical alarm, and must not be relied on as the only prompt to measure or to take medication.

  8. 8. Acceptable use

    You agree not to:

    • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or modify the App, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
    • rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or redistribute the App;
    • use the App to provide clinical, diagnostic or monitoring services to third parties, or to make treatment decisions for another person in a professional capacity;
    • circumvent the trial period, the subscription check, or any other technical limitation;
    • use the App in breach of applicable law, sanctions or export-control rules, or in breach of the App Store Terms of Service.

  9. 9. Intellectual property

    The App, its name, icon, design, text and content remain the property of FaceyIT FZ-LLC and its licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service and Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Your own measurement data remains yours; we claim no rights in it.

  10. 10. Warranty and liability

    The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. We do not warrant that calculations, range labels, exports, iCloud sync or reminders will be free of error, defect or interruption.

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, FaceyIT FZ-LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, for lost data or lost profits, or for any health outcome arising from use of, or reliance on, the App. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

    Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — and nothing limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

  11. 11. Apple

    These Terms are concluded between you and FaceyIT FZ-LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App: support requests go to support@glucoconvert.app.

    If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We — not Apple — are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability, failure to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law, and for the investigation and defence of any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights.

    You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

  12. 12. Changes and availability

    We may update the App, change or discontinue features, and revise these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the version number and “last updated” date on this page; where a change materially reduces your rights, we will give reasonable notice in the App before it takes effect. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

    We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms. You may terminate at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the App. Clauses 2, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.

  13. 13. Governing law and disputes

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Ras Al Khaimah have jurisdiction.

    If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction whose law grants you non-waivable protection, that protection is unaffected: you retain the benefit of the mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.

  14. 14. General

    If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it is severed and the remainder stays in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on notice to you. Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Apple’s applicable terms, are the entire agreement between us regarding the App. The English version of these Terms prevails over any translation.
