Privacy Policy

Version 1.1-android · Last updated: 12 August 2026

This page covers the Android app

This policy applies to the GlucoConvert application distributed through Google Play. If you use the iPhone version, see the iOS Privacy Policy instead — the two differ on the backup mechanism and the payment processor, and on nothing else.

GlucoConvert is built so that we never see your health data. There are no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no servers of ours for the app to talk to.

In one sentence

The app collects nothing and sends nothing. This website stores no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. Everything below is detail confirming that.

Who is responsible

The data controller is FaceyIT FZ-LLC, Compass Building, Al Shohada Road, Street C – Al Hamra Area, MQ7P+XG, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. Contact: support@glucoconvert.app. Because we process no personal data, we have not appointed a data protection officer or an EU representative; if that changes, this page will say so before the change takes effect.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no registration, requests no personal details, and sends no measurements, notes, insulin amounts, health data or device identifiers to FaceyIT FZ-LLC.

Everything you enter — glucose values, notes, insulin doses, reminder times and preferences — is written to storage on your phone and stays there. Our Google Play Data safety declaration is “No data collected”.

Android backup

The app takes part in Android’s standard backup, which is switched on or off by you in your device settings, not by us. When it is on, your logbook database and your app preferences are included in your own Google account backup, so they can be restored when you set up a new phone or reinstall the app. Nothing else from the app is included.

That backup is held by Google under Google’s terms and privacy policy, encrypted with a key derived from your device PIN, pattern or password. We have no access to it and cannot retrieve, restore or delete it for you. Turning Android backup off in your device settings keeps the data on the device only.

This is backup, not sync: entries do not appear live on a second device, and a restore happens only during setup or reinstall.

Permissions

The app requests two things and nothing else: permission to post notifications, used only for the reminders you schedule yourself, and the Google Play billing permission, used only to check and purchase the subscription. It asks for no access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, files, or your other apps.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device by Android. They contain no measurement values and are not routed through any server, ours or Google’s push infrastructure. You can revoke notification permission at any time in Android Settings.

Export and sharing

CSV and text exports are generated on your device and handed to the Android share sheet as a temporary file in the app’s own cache, shared through a content URI with a short-lived read grant to the app you pick. No other part of the app’s storage is reachable by the receiving app.

Where the file goes — mail, messages, a file, a printer — is entirely your choice, and it leaves our control, and yours, once you share it. Exported files contain your health data in plain text; treat them accordingly.

Purchases

The glucose converter is free and requires no purchase. The annual subscription that unlocks the logbook, reminders and export is sold and processed by Google through Google Play Billing; we never see your payment details, billing address or Google Account. We receive only aggregate, anonymous sales and subscription reports from Google Play Console, which do not identify you and contain no health data.

Third parties

The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no tracking pixels and no social logins. Its only network use is Google Play’s own billing check, which reports whether a subscription is active and carries no diary content. Google may collect its own diagnostics if you have opted into sharing them with developers; such reports are technical and contain no diary content.

This website

glucoconvert.app sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads no fonts, scripts or images from any third-party domain. The in-page converter runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

Our web server keeps short-lived technical access logs for security and fault diagnosis. IP addresses are truncated before being written, so the entries cannot be traced back to an individual, and logs are rotated and deleted within 14 days. The legal basis, for visitors covered by the GDPR, would be our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone. A child may use it under the supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts the Terms and remains responsible for all treatment decisions.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, the CCPA/CPRA and comparable regimes you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal data, and we perform no profiling or automated decision-making.

Because we hold no copy of your data, these requests are answered by your own device: you can delete any single entry inside the app, or remove everything by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it; there is nothing on our side to retrieve, correct or erase. If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will investigate. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

International transfers and retention

We operate no database and transfer no personal data across borders. Your measurements never leave your device except, if you have Android backup switched on, to your own Google account backup, where Google determines the storage location under its own policy. Retention of your entries is entirely under your control and lasts until you delete them.

Security

Data on your device is protected by Android’s file-based encryption and your screen lock. This site is served over HTTPS only. We hold no user data, so there is no central store to breach — but no method of electronic storage is perfectly secure, and a lost or unlocked device exposes the diary to whoever holds it.

Changes

If a future version of the app collects anything, this policy will be updated before that version ships, the change will be described here with a new version number and date, and — where the law requires it — we will ask for your consent in the app rather than relying on this page alone.
